An AI-generated Executive Overview suggests actions on retention, marks cross-sell and growth opportunities, and flags anomalies. Owners can compare results with similarly sized AAI agencies and industry benchmarks, spot monoline households and carrier concentration, catch AMS quoting errors and licenses expiring within 60 days, and review quote ratios by producer.     Agency owners hunt cross-sell and retention problems in the book by hand. A brief that names the households and the quoting errors is the review an owner runs.

    MGT Insurance launched MGT Quoting so independent agents can get a real rate on MGT business inside ChatGPT or Claude. Aimee, its quoting and appetite agent, uses details already in the conversation, checks appetite, asks for anything still needed, prices the quote, and states the assumptions behind the number. Agents can also upload an ACORD application in the MGT portal or chat with Aimee there. Every quote opens in the portal for review before binding. The company dated the post October 16, 2026 and says appointed agents should contact a territory manager or the Broker Success team to get set up.

    Small-commercial quoting still means leaving the chat to rekey a risk into a carrier portal. A real rate that comes back inside ChatGPT or Claude, and waits for a review before bind, is that quoting step.

    CoverForce ChatGPT app

    CoverForce introduced a ChatGPT app that lets US insurance professionals build commercial insurance submissions and compare quotes with plain-language requests. Agents can describe a business, check carrier appetite, start a quote, or retrieve an open application to see what is missing. The app builds submissions, asks carrier-specific underwriting questions, and returns quotes side by side across more than 60 carrier products, including workers’ compensation, business owners policies, general liability, cyber, and miscellaneous professional liability.     Vertafore made the Velocity Policy Intake Agent and Velocity Policy Check Agent generally available. Policy Intake Agent reads policy documents, maps the details into the agency management system, and flags what is new, changed, missing, or conflicting for a person to approve. It is available now in AgencyOne with AMS360 and in early access for Sagitta. Policy Check Agent compares an issued policy with management-system data and source documents, recommends corrections, and records the review in AMS360.     Service teams still key policies that do not download and compare issued policies line by line. An agent that proposes the entry and the corrections, and waits for approval, is that daily policy work.

    AMS+ Annual Review

    AgencyBloc opened a public beta of AMS+ Annual Review for Medicare Advantage. It uses CMS plan data and the client record already in AMS+ to compare the current plan with next year’s coverage and alternatives, including estimated financial impact, and uses medication data to show prescription changes.     Annual enrollment prep is a stack of plan-change notices. A comparison that starts from the client already in the AMS is the meeting a Medicare agent has to run.

    Translabour opened Howard, the AI agent inside its Transurance workspace for insurance brokers. Howard reads quotes, wordings, and emails, compares options, flags what changed, and drafts client notes and carrier requests for a person to approve. The October 13, 2026 post says anyone can try Howard on sample cases with no sign-up.

    Commercial renewals stall on copying premiums and reading wordings. A comparison that cites the page it came from is the prep a broker does before the client call.

    Ascend launched Cora, an AI coworker that starts inside Direct Bill Automation. Accountants can give natural-language instructions to refine statement matching, use recommended match logic, and have overrides remembered on later carrier statements. Coverager dated the post October 13, 2026. Cora is rolling out to existing Direct Bill Automation customers at no additional cost before the end of the year, and Ascend says it raised auto-matches by an average of 20% on some of the hardest statements.

    Direct-bill month-end is exception handling. A prompt that fixes the matches a carrier statement keeps missing is work an agency accountant repeats every cycle.

    Gemini 4 Argon

    Google made Gemini 4 Argon available in the Gemini app for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. The company says Argon answers more directly and shares progress on longer tasks. A toggle from chat to tasks lets Gemini keep working across Google apps when the user is away, and Google says Gemini now connects to more than 40 apps.

    Agents who work in Gmail and Docs can hand off a follow-up and come back to it, instead of keeping a single chat open until the draft is done.

    Office in the Copilot app

    Microsoft brought Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into the Copilot app. A prompt can create a real Office file that opens beside the chat, and the user can keep editing it there or in the standalone apps with the conversation still attached. The Copilot blog, dated October 9, 2026, says Office in Copilot is rolling out for Frontier customers in Chat and Cowork.

    Proposals, comparison spreadsheets, and review decks are Office files. Drafting them next to the coverage question keeps the client document and the chat together.

    Google Cloud announced the Gemini agent, one work agent that plans a task, uses tools, and returns finished work in documents and email. Inside Google Workspace it runs in Gmail, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Chat, and Calendar, and Google says it can also be used from Microsoft 365 and Slack. The Google Cloud blog dated the announcement October 8, 2026.

    An agency on Gmail and Docs can delegate a renewal summary or a meeting follow-up and get a document back, instead of copying an answer out of a chat.

    OpenAI brought GPT-6 to ChatGPT with Intelligent UI, so replies can mix text, visuals, and interactive elements such as comparisons, diagrams, and small tools. Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise start on GPT-6 Sol; Free and Go move to GPT-6 Luna.

    Agents already draft emails and explain coverage in ChatGPT. Side-by-side comparisons and simple in-chat tools fit a client review better than a wall of text.

    Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5, its cheapest and fastest small model, for high-volume work such as summaries, classification, and live customer support. The company says it costs about 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5.

    A receptionist or follow-up bot gets expensive at call and email volume. A cheaper small model is the piece an agency would put behind that workflow.

    Paid ChatGPT plans can take an audio file, transcribe it, summarize the recording, and draft a follow-up email. OpenAI says transcripts may contain errors and availability varies by plan, region, and model.

    Anthropic launched Claude Sonnet 5.5 as a faster, lower-cost complement to Opus 5.5 for everyday tasks and for documents, slides, and spreadsheets. API pricing stays $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, and Anthropic says it generates output more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5.

    Most agency writing is scoped: emails, summaries, and client-ready documents. This is the Claude model built for that work, at the same token price as Sonnet 5.

    Bold Penguin launched DeX ai on its Digital Exchange. It reads a submission, matches it to carriers, and on less complex risks can run straight through to bind.     Anthropic started rolling Cowork into ordinary Claude chats, so a user can ask a quick question or hand off a report, spreadsheet, or presentation without picking a mode. The rollout is gradual for Pro and Max on web, desktop, and mobile.
